Who is Aimée Lee?
Singing has always been my favorite thing to do. My folks said I came into this world singing, and I’ve honestly never stopped. I started singing in church choirs at age 5 and began performing with the Edina Songsters, a children’s vocal performance group at age 10. I sang my way though high school, performing in multiple choirs and exploring musical theater (which continued into my college years).
Fresh out of high school, I cut my teeth singing professionally with Don Molloy and the Music of Your Life Orchestra, a local big band, which led to a brief European tour singing with the St. Cloud State Jazz Band. Out of college and starting a young family, I found myself hungry to sing again, and started performing with the vocal jazz group Essentially Jazz. A couple years in, I began to get a lot of recording session work, and not long after, I started fronting some pretty iconic party and cover bands – Mirage, Mister Nice Guy, Temporary Heroes, RFactor and The TC Jammers, with whom I received an induction into the Mid-America Music Hall of Fame.
I’ve been singing professionally now for more than 40 years in the Twin Cities, and I am blessed to have always been surrounded by incredible musicians and audiences, playing in the most wonderful listening rooms, theaters and clubs around. I have a love for nearly every genre of music, but mostly, I just love singing in harmony. This has put me in the very enviable position of creating, co-producing, and performing in a myriad of shows that feature some of the best vocalists I could ever have hoped to sing with, performing with so many amazing musicians, and covering almost every musical style imaginable.
